Plot Summary:

A comedy that defies the likelihood of your average accident. When down and out spinster Virginia Love (Reynolds) boards a train from New York to Detroit for her sister, Martha’s wedding, she meets a dashing baseball player named Calvin Boyd (Blackthorne) in a slapstick mishap involving the bar car and a catchers mitt. The majority of the movie takes place aboard the passenger train, and wackiness ensues. When the engineer learns that the train is on a one way track to collision with another train, one mishap after another brings Virginia and Calvin together, culminating in their ultimately saving the doomed train. The next day, the two meet up again at the wedding where Virginia learns that Calvin is none other than the man her sister is marrying. After a few more misunderstandings, Virginia and Calvin decide they’re the ones who are in love and have to break the news to Martha.  Blackthorne also makes his directorial debut in this critical favorite.
